We’ll help you bust the myths around roll-fed inkjet so that you can print any volume… short- or long-runs for your operation.
Inkjet Myth Busters Spotting Common Misconceptions
MYTH {{ index+1 }}
Print quality won’t be accepted.
There was a time when that was true for all inkjet, but SCREEN’s Truepress Jet520HD prints with high resolution and great color. Our technology and highly engineered, SC+ process inks hit the vast majority of the most common spot colors. They even qualify for G7 Grayscale, Targeted and Colorspace.
You’ve seen some of our samples, let us print some of your files so you can judge for yourself.
Stocks are a problem.
The whole supply chain has been turned upside down.
The last thing you need is for your equipment to further limit your choices. SCREEN’s proprietary SC and SC+ inks print on standard coated and uncoated stocks with no pre-treatment and no requirement for inkjet treatment. Couple that with the Truepress Jet520HD’s ability to set up new stocks with a minimum number of touches and you have the flexibility you need to keep your business running during these dynamic supply chain times.
Inkjet inks are too expensive.
Inkjet inks are expensive, but there is more to the story than just the cost of ink. When you take a careful look at the entire process and all the costs associated with owning and running an inkjet press, you’ll find that the ROI is pointing in your favor.
If the economics were upside down, would so many companies be growing and profiting with roll-fed inkjet? We can help you identify and understand all the costs and benefits so you can make your own informed decision.
Our volumes aren’t high enough to justify inkjet.
You might be right, but the threshold to make money might be lower than you thought. More small and medium size commercial printers are making the jump to inkjet every month and it’s not because they can fill the printer up from day one … there are lots of factors that contribute.
Give us the opportunity, not to sell you but to take the walk together and at the end, you’ll have the facts and analysis to KNOW if you have enough volume.
Our bindery is sheetfed based.
Roll-fed inkjet starts as a roll, but it doesn’t stay that way.
Every company with a roll-fed printer also has a roll processing system. Once the roll is sheeted, existing bindery equipment takes over and when that print comes from digital, your sheetfed bindery runs fewer overruns and has less paper waste.
SCREEN’s digital inkjet presses work seamlessly with equipment from a variety of manufacturers. Alternate layouts and configurations allow for flexibility in the pressroom and can work with your existing equipment.
It’s too risky to rely on just one output device.
The majority of roll-fed inkjet system owners ARE single system plants.
The reason is that roll-fed inkjet drastically outperforms multiple sheetfed digital printers. Even with a single printer, the miniscule unplanned downtime enables companies like yours to take on bigger SLA-driven jobs with confidence.
If the extra horsepower and reliability are not enough to help you sleep at night, you’re not the first with this concern. There are cost-effective ways to mitigate that risk and we can go over them with you.
Offset pressmen will never accept inkjet.
We’ve seen many offset pressmen become SCREEN inkjet press operators. We’ve never seen one want to go back.
That’s because SCREEN inkjet printers are not toys; they’re serious, highly productive, quality color production printers. Pressmen want to produce. And nothing produces like a SCREEN.
We can train your top notch offset pressmen to be top notch inkjet press operators. Also, finding new employees to run inkjet equipment is a lot easier than finding someone who knows how to run a litho press. Inkjet technology provides a much more secure future for commercial printers.
